360 booth vs photo booth

Videos for phones or prints to take home? Here's how they compare, who each one suits, and when it's worth booking both.

Updated October 2026

The short answer

A 360 booth films short slow-motion videos while a camera arm spins around your guests on a platform. A photo booth takes photos and prints them as strips your guests take home. One gives you clips made for phones and social media; the other gives you something to hold, stick on the fridge or put in a guest book.

Neither is better. It depends on your guests, your venue and what you want to keep after the night.

Choose a 360 booth if…

  • Your guests love posting videos. 360 clips are made for Instagram Stories, TikTok and group chats.
  • You want a moment people queue for. The spinning arm, lights and music draw a crowd.
  • You're running a launch or brand activation and want your logo on content guests share.
  • Your guests are mostly in small groups of friends rather than big family groups.

Choose a photo booth if…

  • You want a printed keepsake. Older guests in particular love taking a strip home.
  • You want every photo in one place. All Night includes an online gallery of every photo after the event.
  • You have a theme. You can pick a backdrop, from sequins to flower walls, with Prints and All Night.
  • Your guests aren't big on social media and would rather have something to hold.

Or book both

Weddings and larger parties often run both: the 360 booth for the dance-floor crowd and the photo booth for prints and messages. You can tick both services on one enquiry form and we'll quote them together.

Questions

Can't find your answer? Call 0461 277 549 or message us.

Does a 360 booth take photos?

Not at Rosco. Our 360 booth makes slow-motion videos only, with no photos or prints. If you want prints too, add the photo booth.

Which is cheaper, a 360 booth or a photo booth?

At Rosco, the 360 booth starts at $399 for 3 hours and the photo booth starts at $149 for 2 hours. Across Melbourne, 360 booths are often the more expensive of the two, so it's worth comparing what's included.

Do both need the same space?

Both need a flat, level area and a standard power outlet within 5 metres. We'll tell you the exact space for your package when we send your quote.
